What’s the difference between a CFO and a fractional CFO?

A traditional CFO is a full-time executive. A fractional CFO gives you that samestrategic expertise, but only for the time and capacity you need, making it acost-effective solution for growing businesses.

Can I hire Light Consulting for just accounting?

Yes! While many of our clients use us for a full suite of services, we also support businesses with only accounting services depending on their needs.

Do you help with taxes?

While we don’t file taxes ourselves, we work closely with CPAs to make tax season smooth. We’ll keep your books clean, your reports accurate, and collaborate with your tax professional to make sure everything’s in place.

Do you offer one-time or project-based work?

In most cases, we focus on ongoing partnerships. However, we occasionally take on short-term or project work, especially if it aligns with our core services and we believe we can add value quickly.

Can you help us prepare to sell our business?

Absolutely! We help clients clean up financials, improve reporting, and prepare for valuation. We also offer strategic support as you navigate transitions, buyers, or succession planning.

Are your services remote or in person?

Most of our work is done remotely, allowing us to serve clients across the region and beyond. We do offer in-person meetings and are happy to accommodate what works best for you.

We’re relational, proactive, and honest. You’ll get a team that cares about your business, communicates clearly, and shows up with excellence (and sometimes spreadsheets).

Do you replace my current team or work with them?

That depends on your needs. Some clients fully outsource to us, while others use us to complement their internal team. We’re flexible, collaborative, and happy to integrate however makes sense.

We primarily work in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and a variety of industry-specific platforms depending on your business needs. We also use tools like Reach Reporting for financial dashboards and Canopy for secure document management and client communication.
